1970 Firebird The VIN or Vehicle Identification Number is a quick way to identify which model and year car that you have and in most cases the VIN a way to match the engine and other parts to the car. In 1970 the VIN number was located on a stainless steel plate on the top of the drivers side dash pannel visiable through the windsheild. The Breakdows is as follows: 1st Digit = GM line number 2 = Pontiac 2nd & 3rd Digit = Series number 23 = Firebird 4th & Fifth Digit = Body Type 87 = 2 Dr. Sport Coupe 6th Digit = Year 0 = 1970 7th Digit = Assembly Plant N = Norwood Last Six Digits = Sequential Production Number 600001 and up for 6 cyl. |
